Our NHS celebrations make the news

The article in On Air magazineRadio Clatterbridge has been given the lead article in the latest issue of the industry publication for hospital radio.

Our recent celebrations to mark 70 years of the NHS at Clatterbridge Health Park was given top billing in On Air magazine.

The article revealed how we are just three years younger than the National Health Service and broadcast to three NHS Foundation Trusts: Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH), The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and Cheshire and Wirral Partnership.

It read: "Volunteers decided to mark the anniversary with an outside broadcast from its own Big 7Tea party. Ian Grant and Helen Sestan presented their regular three-hour programme from a
marquee near the station in the heart of the Clatterbridge Health Park grounds. Special guests came out in the sunshine to talk about the health service."

The report also stated that we broadcast a number of exclusives including promises of funding for The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and a touching interview with a senior manager who thanked the NHS for caring for her as she battled cancer for the third time in seven years.
