Co-op members give us thousands of reasons to be cheerful

Mike Eveleigh, Jackie and Dan from Co-op and Steve EvansRadio Clatterbridge has been given thousands of reasons to be cheerful - thanks to shoppers at our local Co-op Food stores.

We've been awarded nearly £7,000 after we were chosen to be one of the shop's good causes for the year.

Chairman Steve Evans and station secretary Mike Eveleigh joined some of our other volunteers at the Teehey Lane store in Bebington to receive the cheque from staff and to show our gratitude to shoppers.

"We can't thank Co-op Food enough for choosing us as one of their good causes this year. This is a significant donation for our charity and I'd like to thank all of the shoppers who decided we were a worthy recipient of the fund." - Steve Evans, chairman

The Local Community Fund sees the store giving 1% of all money spent on Co-op branded items to good causes selected by shoppers.

Clatterbridge-based Claire House Children's Hospice also benefitted from the project with a donation of more than £8,000.
